This page is here to provide notice regarding special travel details that may apply to you. It is by no means all inclusive, however if you have other specific questions, please email us to discuss your concern.

- Smoking - All Private Car trips are non smoking, however there may be some stops where you could de-train to smoke on the platform.

- Handicap Access - We at Luxury Rail Travel do our best to provide top-notch service to all our passengers regardless of physical impairment and every effort will be made to accommodate persons with disabilities, however many of the cars we use are historic in nature and therefore are not accessible by passengers in a wheelchair. Please contact us prior to booking your tickets to discuss your needs and we will make every effort to accommodate.  We also endeavor to make your trip as comfortable as possible. If you have a special request to help us make your trip better, please don't hesitate to ask.

- Travel to Canada - If your trip goes through or terminates in Canada, you will be required to obtain a passport or US/Canada Boarder Card. Passengers without these documents will not be allowed to enter Canada and will be required by US Customs & Border Protection to detrain. Luxury Rail Travel and trip sponsors are not responsible for this and passengers put off the train by USCBP are not entitled to a refund. You will be contacted after you book tickets to collect passport information. -Substitutions - Occasionally Luxury Rail Travel may have to substitute equipment due to issues beyond our control. In such a case, we will work with our car owners to supply a car of equal or greater comfort. 

-Delays - As most of our trips are pulled by Amtrak trains, we are subject to the same delays. We have no control over this as many things outside our control can cause delay. 

-Late Arriving Passengers - Passengers who arrive late will miss the train unless Amtrak is running late. Amtrak (and thereby us as well) will make every attempt to leave stations on time. Passengers who miss the train are not entitled to a refund. For longer trips, we recommend flying ahead to catch us at a later station. Please call us to advise us if you are doing this.

-Children - Our trips are not recommended for young children. There is no discount for childrens' tickets.

-Pets - Pets are not allowed on our cars unless previously approved. Service animals are permitted. 

-Alcohol - Alcohol may be served on some trips, in which case no outside alcohol is permitted. However, you may bring your own alcohol on private charters.

-Train Name - You will be sent information after booking that will have train departure information. Please note that the name of the train and the name of the trip likely won't match, however, you will be provided with the Amtrak train name and number so as to find the correct platform at the station. 

-Luggage - For short trips, we ask you to limit luggage to a small "carry on" type bag. For longer trips or private charters, there is no luggage restriction. 

-Firearms - For trips that involve hunting or sport shooting, rifles, shotguns, bows and pistols must be in a locked case and ammunition must be in a separate box. Know and obey the laws regarding firearms in the state of destination. 

-Electronic Devices - Electronics devices are not restricted, however we ask that volumes be turned down or off so as not to disrupt other passengers. 

-Refunds - Generally, there are no refunds on trip tickets or deposits. An exception will be made, however if the trip has to be cancelled by Luxury Rail Travel or the trip sponsor, in which case a refund would be made, either to the card to which it was charged or by corporate check, at the discretion of Luxury Rail Travel or the trip's sponsor.

-Transfers - Tickets may be transferred to another party if you cannot use the tickets you purchased, however you must notify Luxury Rail Travel 30 days before the trip for domestic trips and 60 days before international trips. Please include your information and the contact information of the person to whom you are transferring the tickets.
